Water4All is thrilled to announce that India has joined the Partnership as an observing partner.
Among the Water4All partnership activities, some are dedicated to strengthening international scientific collaboration. This international strategy also includes knowledge exchanges, innovative solutions, and working on hydro-diplomacy.
India is a major country with one of the largest populations in the world, which increases water challenges apart from other factors already existing in most countries, especially in Europe. There is much to learn from each other's practices, scientific research, innovative technologies, and knowledge learned..
This new cooperation chapter is a chance, and the Water4All Partnership wish for a fruitful collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology - Water Technology Initiative of India (DSI-WTI).
DST-WTI commitment and shared goals
The DST-WTI stresses that both entities are in line with their water priorities.
It is a mutually beneficial and aligned collaboration, building on the technology emerging from joint projects, supporting the objectives set under the EU-lndia Trade and Technology Council.
It will also enable India to benefit from the extensive network of partners working on innovative solutions in the water sector under the Water4All framework.
We believe that DST India's long-standing experience and expertise in the development, validation and deployment of robust, affordable and innovative Water Technologies will be mutually beneficial and aligned with the Water4All objectives and will potentially lead to a meaningful and impactful partnership.
India will also participate as a self-funded partner in the call coming in 2025, “Water and Health”.
More details on the WTI initiative
Water Technology Initiative (WTI) was launched almost 18 years ago in August 2007. It aims to strengthen the R&D capacity and capability to develop the research based solutions for existing and emerging water challenges facing the country in the area of water quality, quantity and water reuse and recycling.
Its programme relies on five main activities, from scientific research to urban water systems and international collaborations. Learn more on DST-WTI
